~ Montgomery Wards - Fall Winter 1959

Montgomery Wards - Fall Winter 1959/1960

How amazing are those two piece suits! They even had mink or fox collars. For the women who needed to dress to impress.

They even have on their sassy matching hats! Gloves!
Just gorgeous.

And this girl is positively elated with her green two piece suit. She didn't even need a hat to finish off her look. But she did make sure to grab her white gloves. Because after all, she is a lady! She does have standards to keep.  :)

~ Vintage magazines... because they are so pretty!

Better Homes & Gardens - March 1943

I can not even explain my joy, when I run across color pictures from the 1930's and 1940's. (Black and white photography was the only reasonably price pictures, a family would have easy access to.)  So any color photo's I have seen from this time period, have always been professional images for magazines. Such as this little beauty from March 1943.  She is too precious!

~ Armstrong Linoleum Flooring - Killing me with cuteness!

My goodness.... this entire kitchen is killing me with its cuteness!  I have such a love of vintage chicken kitchen decorations. And when I came across this Armstrong booklet, showing off their flooring. I nearly fainted when I saw those chicken wall paintings.

There is even a old Sunbeam mixer on the counter... with its matching Jadeite green juice attachment! I like the shades of oranges in this period. More of a sherbet shade. And the greens during the 1930's lean towards the fabulous Jadeite green to moss green. Happy colors. The only thing that gives me pause about vintage kitchens. Is the lack of upper cabinets.

I am a girl that needs my upper cabinets, in the kitchen. So when I look at the new homes being built. With the great big open concept kitchen. Does anyone ever think about that with all that openness, means there are no walls. No walls for those upper cabinets to be mounted to. These are huge kitchens. And not one whole wall insight. Even the pantries are hid down a side wall way. So this leads me on my hunt for older homes. With a great lay out. And a couple walls still left in the kitchen.  :)

Now the booklet I came across for Armstrong Linoleum Flooring, is from 1939. And it has all this amazing flooring, for any room in the house.

But I am obsess with the flooring for these vintage kitchens. I am always intrigued with the port holes in these 1930's homes.  They were not limited to the kitchens. I have notice they tend to pop up in bathrooms too. But today I am on a kitchen rant and the beauty of the vintage Armstrong Linoleum Flooring.

Look at that linoleum! Love everything about this flooring. Why do we not get such fabulous options now?

Armstrong Linoleum Flooring - 1927

Look at this one! And its from 1927. Pink, turquoise and green checked linoleum. How amazing.

And of course there are those Mid Century years. Where pink flooring was not hard to come by. But those hot pink, built in cabinets, do give me a little pause. Wow. Those really are powerful looking for the dining room.

More from the 1960 Armstrong Vinyl collection. Love the lilac and blue theme in this dining room.

Armstrong Vinyl - 1970

And this is the last of Armstrong Flooring advertisements that I found with a pinkish hue. After this point... it is all burnt orange, harvest gold and avocado green. The depressing years for me.

~ Mid Century Homes... the back yard....

I am loving the Mid Century homes. I find this back patio to be perfect for so many reasons. It has a nice awning to filter all that sun beating down on the concrete pad. It has the great use of hair pin style posts. The patio furniture with those checked seated stools on black rod iron legs are perfection. It even has those hanging black candle holders on the back wall.

Then when Fall comes... you still get to use this patio with its little black free standing fireplace. Too bad its not a nice yellow enamel one! Or even orange!

~ Mid Century Homes... The pink two story...

My goodness. How amazing is this 1955, two story Mid Century home!?! I rarely see a two story from this time period. (prior to 1960)  I come across lots of the one story Mid Century lovelies. But an actual two story is just not common around where I live.

And it has pink siding too. Which probably was asbestos siding. But it does not stop it from being incredible. So much curb appeal!

the interior of this pink beauty...

The only downside of this home to me... is that all bedrooms are on the second floor. I am all about the master bedroom being on the main floor.

So if you are wanting to kill a little time... there are oodles of plans to roam through here...

~ Bell Telephone.... the Kitchen wallphone... in pink!

Bell Telephone - 1965

Hey now! That is a gorgeous kitchen phone.... in pink. Love it.  Matter of fact.... I own that pink phone...

I am always looking for the vintage advertisements, for the odd stuff I collect. And these pink telephone ad's are wonderful... and gives me a decent idea when they were being marketed.

Carolina Telephone & Telegraph Co. - 1961

My favorite sell point... is that "Modern homes have handy phones .... in Color!"

~ Bell Telephone.... the pretty pink Princess...

Bell Telephone Advertisement - 1959

Oh my goodness. Nothing brings move love, than the pink princess years. Which I blame completely on Bell Telephone and their Princess phones.  How could you be anyone in school if you didn't have your own bedside phone?

And leave it to Bell Telephone to sell that point. "Her Telephone..." ~ Oh, yea. Whom ever was behind this campaign, earned a big fat bonus. Because it still sells to this day. Just now they are pink cell phones. Hauled around in their hand.

Yet, still the same message. How is a teen girl suppose to function, without her phone!?!

~ Pepsi Cola - the pretty girl years...

I have been looking at the most amazing vintage advertisements from those fabulous Mid Century years... and it never gets old. Seeing all the fantastic colors and fashion from the time period.

This is a wonderful vintage ad from Pepsi Cola. There seems to be a theme to a lot of their advertisements. Pretty girls. That is it. Pretty girls and a bottle of Pepsi!

See! Another pretty girl... with amazing clothes and shoes from the time period too!

~ Kellogg's Corn Flakes.... the vintage years...

Every so often, I come across something brilliant from vintage advertisements. Today, I show off this great ad from Kellogg's. It is from 1958 and I am loving the Queen of Corn in her fancy corn hat!
