~ Vintage Oddness.... Keeley Institution...

The beautiful romance of life never blooms in the morass of liquor or drug addiction. 

Now I have seen many vintage sewing needle packets. Some really cute ones. That were give a ways for all kind of products. But this is the first one I seen for a drug rehab. From 1921. Seriously... it is from 1921

And it is a really nice one too! With the threader.

I wonder how this was handed out. Where these needle packets passed around in Suffrage meetings?  So women had an idea where to send the husband off to? In attempts to get those drinking husbands a place to go dry out.  Or where they on the counter at the local shop where women bought fabric and notions.
